Zurich Expands Cyber Portfolio with BOXX Acquisition

Zurich Insurance Group has announced its acquisition of BOXX Insurance Inc., a Toronto-based insurtech specializing in cyber insurance and risk management. This acquisition will see BOXX integrated into Zurich Global Ventures, thus strengthening Zurich's cyber protection capabilities. The transaction aligns with Zurich's goal to amplify its cyber offerings to retail and SME customers globally, broadening its portfolio with value-adding solutions. Despite the acquisition, BOXX will continue to operate independently, maintaining its identity and operations. Cara Morton, CEO of Zurich Global Ventures, praised the partnership, emphasizing how BOXX's service-led approach will advance Zurich's customer engagement and integrated solutions. BOXX, which was established in 2018, has already scaled to nearly a million customers worldwide, offering an innovative range of cyber insurance products such as Cyberboxx Business Edition and Cyberboxx Home Edition. Vishal Kundi, speaking on behalf of BOXX, highlighted that Zurich's reach and resources would catalyze their mission to offer robust digital protection.
