X-Bow: $60M Navy Deal to Modernize Rocket Facilities

X-Bow Systems has secured $60 million in contracts from the U.S. Navy to upgrade solid rocket production facilities as part of the Pentagon's effort to modernize its defense manufacturing infrastructure. The contracts will fund improvements at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division in Maryland using X-Bow's 3D printing technology to enhance the production of solid rocket motors and propellants. This initiative is a segment of the Navy's expansive $2.7 billion modernization strategy for its industrial base over the next 15 years. The Indian Head facility has played a crucial role in defense manufacturing since World War II. X-Bow's CEO, Jason Hundley, emphasized that the upgrades will augment production capacity to meet escalating military demands. Previously, X-Bow was selected to develop solid propulsion for hypersonic missiles and the Standard Missile program. In 2023, X-Bow signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division to advance solid propellant rocket systems.
