WisdomTree Acquires Ceres Partners in $500M Deal

WisdomTree, Inc., a global financial firm, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Ceres Partners, LLC, a U.S.-based alternative asset manager focused on farmland investments. This strategic acquisition signals WisdomTree's entry into the private asset markets, particularly targeting the rapidly growing $3.5 trillion U.S. farmland sector, along with adjacent industries like solar, AI data infrastructure, and water. The deal, valued at up to $500 million, includes $275 million upfront and up to $225 million in contingent earn-outs. Ceres, managing approximately $1.85 billion in assets, has consistently outperformed benchmarks with a 10.3% annual return since 2007. The acquisition is poised to enhance WisdomTree's long-term earnings by accelerating its foray into private, income-generating investments, aligning with its strategic goals to expand into structural growth sectors such as tokenization and managed models. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2025, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
