Wilsonart Acquires Virginia Tile's Woodworking Product Distribution Business

Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces, headquartered in Austin, Texas, has acquired the woodworking product distribution division of Virginia Tile, a major provider of tile and surface solutions across the Midwest. The acquired division, with locations in Kansas and Missouri, distributes decorative surfaces and hardware. This acquisition is aimed at enhancing Wilsonart's distribution capabilities and expanding its portfolio of engineered surfaces to new markets. Despite being a valuable part of Virginia Tile's portfolio, the woodworking division was considered to have limited synergy with Virginia Tile's core flooring operations. To ensure a smooth transition, Randy Burton will assume the role of general manager of the acquired business. Legal counsel for the transaction was provided by Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. Virginia Tile continues its operation as a leader in the tile distribution industry as part of Artivo Surfaces, a group backed by Transom Capital Group.
