Watercycle Technologies raises £4.4m in net zero mission

The University of Manchester spinout, Watercycle Technologies, has successfully raised £4.4 million in a Series A investment led by Par Equity. The funding round included participation from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Aer Ventures, and the University of Manchester Innovation Factory. Watercycle Technologies, a prominent player in ClimateTech, focuses on sustainable, low-cost, high-yield mineral recovery systems aimed at mitigating critical mineral supply risks and fostering a circular economy. The company's technology has garnered international attention, with interest from governments and businesses worldwide. With this new funding, Watercycle Technologies aims to scale ton-scale production of battery-grade minerals and further its mission to provide sustainable raw materials crucial for a net zero future. Dr. Seb Leaper, the CEO, and Dr. Ahmed Abdelkarim, the CTO, co-founded the firm, which illustrates the talent and innovation emerging from the University of Manchester.
