Walmart Expands Luxury Offerings with Rebag Partnership

Walmart has teamed up with Rebag, a notable hybrid reseller of luxury second-hand items, to enhance its used-goods marketplace with high-end offerings. Rebag has now listed approximately 27,000 luxury items on Walmart.com, featuring renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Chanel, Gucci, and Prada. This partnership marks a significant expansion from Walmart's previous offerings through third-party sellers, multiplying available inventory by tenfold and introducing a dedicated luxury resale section on its website. Additionally, Rebag collaborated with Walmart's merchandising team to curate an exclusive collection of 100 items based on Walmart's customer preferences derived from internal data. This initiative is poised to increase Walmart's appeal to wealthier shoppers and elevate site traffic alongside advertising revenue. The collaboration is reminiscent of Walmart's prior partnership with StockX, which focused on high-end sneakers. Walmart's third-party marketplace has witnessed over 30% sales growth in each of the last five quarters, primarily fueled by broadening its category and brand offerings.
