WAC Founder George Fairhall Secures £500k Bridge Funding

Georgina Fairhall, founder of the Leeds-based startup WAC, has successfully secured an additional £500k in bridge funding following a previous £1m pre-seed round. WAC, an app designed to help shift workers manage and verify their earnings has rapidly gained traction with over 11.5 million shifts tracked and more than 360,000 installs worldwide. The current bridge funding round saw contributions from Lifted Ventures and other angel investors, notably including seven women from the Lifted Ventures network. Fairhall, driven by her experiences of inaccurate pay in the hospitality industry, aims to provide low-paid workers with financial control by enabling real-time earnings estimation and accurate payment verification. This latest round of funding aims to position WAC as a trusted tool for shift workers globally. Lifted Ventures' co-founder has praised the app’s potential to bring financial transparency and empowerment to hourly-paid workers.
