Vikas Wadhawan Takes Charge as COO at REA's Global Capability Center

REA Group, a leading real estate company based in Australia, has appointed Vikas Wadhawan as the Chief Operating Officer of its recently established Global Capability Center in India. Wadhawan, who has been with REA India since 2011, was previously the Chief Financial Officer and business head of PropTiger, another Real Estate venture under the REA brand. The new Global Capability Center, known as REA Cyber City, began operations late last year in Gurugram. It focuses on advanced product development in data, cloud, and AI domains, employing around 50 personnel engaged in projects related to privacy data management, and efficiency improvements. REA Group's CTO Steve Maidment highlighted the significance of Wadhawan's new role, signifying a crucial step for REA Cyber City’s future and the firm's ambitions to further its engineering capabilities. During the fiscal year 2023-2024, REA India reported a revenue of INR 5.6 billion, marking a 31% year-on-year increase.
