Taylor Wessing has advised Vestas, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer, on the drafting and negotiation of project agreements for Vattenfall's offshore wind farm Nordlicht 1. The contracts, finalized in June 2024, involve the delivery, installation, and servicing of 68 V236-15.0 MW turbines. Located 85 kilometers north of Borkum in the German North Sea, Nordlicht 1 will be Germany's largest offshore wind project. Its total capacity is 1,020 MW with a grid connection of 980 MW and a 40 MW excess. Construction is slated to begin in 2026 with completion by 2028.
