Ukraine Eyes Logistics Hub in Egypt for Agricultural Export Boost

Ukraine is exploring the establishment of a logistics hub in Egypt to enhance the distribution of its agricultural products to North Africa. This initiative follows directives from Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, aiming to deepen market penetration in the region. Vitaliy Koval, Ukraine's agriculture minister, announced this prospect during his visit to Egypt. The examination of port infrastructure in Egypt is underway to determine potential sites for logistics centers, elevators, and warehouses. Zelenskiy has instructed supply mechanisms for food delivery to Syria post-Bashar al-Assad's regime, with plans of re-establishing diplomatic relations. Traditionally, Ukraine has been a key supplier of grains to Egypt, exporting millions of metric tons of corn and wheat. Koval highlighted the intention to not only export raw materials but to process them within special economic zones in Egypt, allowing for the entry of Ukrainian food products like flour and pasta into Egypt's domestic market.
