Torc Expands with New Autonomous Hub in Dallas-Fort Worth

Torc Robotics, a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has signed a lease agreement to establish a new autonomous truck hub in Hillwood's AllianceTexas development within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This strategic expansion aims to facilitate the testing, customer freight piloting, and commercialization of Torc's autonomous driving technology, scheduled for 2027. The Dallas-Fort Worth site offers operational advantages due to its location on Interstate 35, a major freight route. The hub will include a customer experience center, control centers for fleet management, and 22,000 square feet of office space on a 17-acre facility. The facility will be developed over 2025 to meet autonomous vehicle standards. Co-location with the largest U.S. port of entry, Laredo, provides substantial growth opportunities. Peter Vaughan Schmidt and Andrew Culhane, CEO and Chief Commercial Officer of Torc, emphasize the significant advances and future possibilities this hub presents. The move underscores the innovation-driven ethos of Hillwood's AllianceTexas. Plans for workforce expansion in Ann Arbor, Michigan, also reflect Torc's commitment to autonomous technology advancement.
