Theo Health Secures £1.2m Funding for SportTech Expansion

Theo Health, a Scottish-based sports technology startup, has successfully raised £1.2m to advance its innovative smart clothing designed for elite athletes and conditioning coaches. This investment was highlighted by the participation of Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele, who not only contributed financially but also joined as a founding member of the Alpha Athletes program aimed at enhancing injury prevention and recovery. The company, led by founder and CEO Jodie Sinclair, was inspired by Sinclair's own experiences recovering from a sports injury. Theo Health's flagship product, the Alpha Shorts, integrates inertial measurement technology within compression wear, providing real-time performance feedback and post-session data analysis to reduce injuries and optimize recovery plans. Targeting an official market launch by summer 2027, Theo Health aims to bridge the gender data gap in sports, particularly in addressing the higher incidence of ACL injuries among female athletes. With guidance from medical advisor Dr. Cordelia Carter, Theo Health aspires to create a novel tool for athletes, enabling better training scrutiny and injury mitigation.
