Tewke Raises £2.6M to Revolutionize Home Efficiency with Intelligent Light Switch

Tewke, a London-based climate tech start-up, has successfully raised £2.6 million in its seed funding round, exceeding the initial target of £1 million. The funding, supported in part by the UK Net Zero Pre-Commercialisation Support Fund, will enable the development of Tewke's intelligent light switch, Tap. Designed to optimize energy use without compromising on comfort, Tap is a touchscreen light switch that operates without the need for rewiring or smart bulbs. Tewke aims to address the UK's energy wastage, which amounts to £4 billion annually, by making homes more eco-friendly and secure. With a proprietary platform, Tewke plans to expand its market reach, enhance its software team, and further develop its neuro-symbolic AI for energy optimization. The company, founded in 2020, has already received accolades such as the Red Dot Award for Design and the Housing Digital Innovation Award. Looking ahead, Tewke is preparing to showcase its technology at the CES 2025 in Las Vegas, aiming to lay the foundation for future smart grids.
