TechCoop Secures $28 Million Investment Led by BlueOrchard to Bolster Vietnam's Climate Resilience

The InsuResilience Investment Fund Private Equity II (IIF II), managed by BlueOrchard Finance SA, has finalized a significant investment in the Vietnam-based agri-tech company TechCoop. The $28 million funding round aims to bolster TechCoop’s efforts to enhance climate resilience for over 200,000 smallholder farmers. TechCoop, established in 2022, leverages a robust agri-tech platform to provide trade payment, market access, and digital services tailored to the needs of agri-SMEs and farmer cooperatives. Particularly notable is its capacity to distribute crop insurance, addressing the market’s vulnerability to climate change. BlueOrchard's investment underscores a commitment to sustainable agriculture and the resilience of Vietnam against climate-related risks. As part of its involvement, IIF II will join TechCoop's Board of Directors, aiming to strengthen corporate governance and climate insurance offerings within the agricultural sector. This strategic partnership is framed as a public-private initiative focused on providing growth capital, with aims for market-rate returns yet managing risks through first-loss protection.
