Tawoos Group to Acquire NMC Oman in Strategic Healthcare Expansion

Tawoos Group, a prominent business conglomerate in Oman, has announced a binding agreement to acquire NMC Healthcare LLC Oman and Elegant Medical Center Oman from NMC Healthcare Group, a leading private healthcare provider in the UAE. This acquisition, slated to complete within two months, reflects Tawoos's strategic initiative to expand its presence in the Omani private healthcare sector by bolstering services and diversifying its investment portfolio. Founded in 2016, NMC Oman includes two hospitals and six clinics, which have been critical in delivering healthcare in the region. This move aligns with Tawoos's vision of fostering a strong local healthcare brand that is accessible yet high-quality. The transaction terms remain confidential; however, it highlights a collaborative spirit between public and private sectors as shared by Samir J Fancy, Chairman of Tawoos. The acquisition also supports NMC Group’s focus on optimizing its core healthcare services within the UAE, enhancing its existing facilities, and pursuing strategic growth. David Hadley, CEO of NMC Healthcare, emphasized the continuity of care during the transition. The transaction was advised by Deloitte and legally supported by Dentons.
