TAQA Water Solutions has embarked on a AED 95 million initiative to launch a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, centralizing control across its expansive treatment infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. Announced at the IDRA World Congress 2024, the project emphasizes environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and a 20% boost in wastewater treatment capacity. Electro Mechanical Company, in collaboration with TVA Engineering and Siemens technology, spearheads this upgrade to enhance real-time monitoring over a network covering more than 13,000 kilometers. This system, set to cover 91% of TAQA’s assets, underscores an agenda to reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption, and maintenance costs while optimizing infrastructure. The strategic deployment aims to contribute to public health and resource management, aligning with TAQA's commitment to the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 initiative.
