TAQA Morocco Joins Forces with Partners for Energy and Water Projects

TAQA Morocco, in partnership with Nareva and the Mohammed VI Investment Fund, has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Morocco and the Office National de lElectricit et de lEau Potable (ONEE) to develop large-scale power and water projects. This strategic alliance aims to support Morocco's energy transition and water security by focusing on low-carbon power generation and sustainable water infrastructure. The projects involve a substantial investment of approximately AED 52 billion (130 billion Moroccan Dirhams) and include the acquisition of a 400 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant, the development of 1,100 MW of new power projects, significant desalination capacity, and new transmission networks. This initiative is part of a broader cooperative effort between the UAE and Morocco, highlighting the shared commitment to economic development and sustainability.
