Talin-Lanjik: A Vital Road Revitalized by ADB

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is committed to enhancing the transport infrastructure in Armenia, focusing on climate resilience, accessibility, and economic growth. Through the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program, a significant portion of the country's transportation challenges, including high costs due to its landlocked status and severe winter weather, are being addressed. ADB has already contributed approximately $350 million toward this effort by improving 91 kilometers of roadway, notably the 18.7-km stretch between Talin and Lanjik, which was completed in 2022. This reconstructed route not only facilitates regional and international connectivity but also serves as a crucial corridor for economic development. The project has bolstered local expertise in procurement, contract management, and technology application, ensuring long-term resilience and effectiveness. As the road enhances connectivity to key cities like Gyumri and Yerevan, local residents report improved travel times and quality of life. ADB plans to continue its support, aiming to develop Armenia's transport network further, focusing on inclusivity and sustainability.
