Talanx Group, a European insurer, has sold its Argentinian and Uruguayan entities to BARBUSS, a global holding company specializing in insurance and financing solutions. This transaction is part of Talanx's strategy to strengthen its presence and achieve profitable growth in Latin America, following the divestment of its Ecuador operation in February 2025. HDI Seguros Argentina and Uruguay have been part of Talanx's HDI International AG since 2011. The Argentinian entity generated a gross premium of ARS 87,708 million in 2024, while the Uruguayan counterpart recorded a gross premium of UYU 1,628 million. Despite this sale, a 10% share of HDI Seguros Uruguay remains with Talanx pending regulatory approval.
