Tages Capital Acquires Two Greenfield Biomethane Plants from Finpower Project
Deal News | May 13, 2025 | Finance Community IT - 1 Corporate M&A

Tages Capital SGR, a specialist asset manager in alternative private market funds and the second-largest photovoltaic operator in Italy, has expanded its green energy investment portfolio with the acquisition of two greenfield biomethane production plants located in Puglia and Basilicata. The plants, formerly owned by Finpower Project alongside co-sellers Abacus and Argot, represent the second investment by Tages Helios Net Zero Infrastructure Fund. The transaction was facilitated by Banca Akros as the exclusive financial advisor to Tages, alongside legal and technical due diligence advisors PedersoliGattai and Rina Consulting respectively. PwC managed financial and tax due diligence. L&B Partners provided financial advisory to the sellers and handled all transaction phases to closing. The biomethane plants, set to become operational in the first half of 2026, will process agricultural by-products into biomethane, connected to the SNAM gas network. This strategic move follows a previous acquisition of four biogas plants aimed for biometano conversion, reinforcing Tages Capital's commitment to renewable energy transition.
