Scottish Enterprise has granted funding to T12 Engineering to develop an innovative floating mooring system designed to improve the deployment and maintenance of single spar floating wind turbines. This technology aims to simplify offshore construction and reduce long-term operational costs, aligning with global trends towards clean energy solutions. The system enables plug and play installation, allowing critical connections to be prepared in advance and reducing weather-related delays. T12 Engineering, based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Teesside, was selected out of 69 applicants, making it one of the 22 companies receiving grant funding as part of Scotland's offshore wind supply chain strategy. The grant will support a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study to determine the feasibility of T12's system, with results expected to be presented at a dedicated event in August.
