SWEN Capital's Blue Ocean 2 Achieves Milestone in Ocean Regeneration Fundraising

SWEN Capital Partners has announced a remarkable achievement with the first closing of its SWEN Blue Ocean 2 fund, raising 160 million euros. This fund represents the world's largest impact venture fund focused on ocean biodiversity regeneration, building on the momentum from SWEN's inaugural Blue Ocean fund. The fund targets startups addressing critical threats like over-fishing, pollution, and climate change, classified as Article 9 under the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. Significant interest has been shown by global investors, reflecting a growing recognition of the urgent need for innovative solutions in ocean protection. The fund, which targets 300 million euros, has already attracted 53% of that amount, with notable commitments from institutional investors such as EIF, France 2030, and Bpifrance, among others. Led by Jérôme Delmas, the Blue Ocean team is positioned to take lead roles in investment rounds, primarily in Europe but with a 30% allocation outside Europe. The fund further strengthens SWEN's commitment to impact investment and its role in pioneering ocean biodiversity initiatives on a global scale.
