SWEN Capital Partners Launches 'SWEN Terra' to Boost Regenerative Agriculture

SWEN Capital Partners, a key player in responsible non-listed investments, has announced the launch of its new impact strategy through the inception of SWEN Terra, a fund designed to support regenerative agriculture. This strategy aims to raise €200 million, with an expected first closing at €40 million. Supported by notable partners such as MACIF, Abeille Assurances, and Suravenir, the fund seeks to facilitate capital access for those within the agricultural sector committed to sustainable practices. Acknowledging the dire state of European soils and the depletion of biodiversity in rural areas, this financing model addresses agricultural challenges by enhancing soil health and increasing biodiversity. Regenerative agriculture not only offers long-term economic benefits to farmers but also supports the transition for new generations entering the field, overcoming financial barriers often associated with traditional credit. SWEN Terra, positioned as a category 9 article fund, aligns with the Kunming-Montreal Accord, aiming to drive significant investment into biodiversity and land regeneration efforts. The fund will invest minority stakes in assets following regenerative practices and prioritize logistical and transformational capabilities within the value chain. Initial investments include a partnership with GreenPods, a French developer specializing in regenerative farming, focusing on scaling European nut production and local value chains. This strategy reaffirms SWEN CP's mission to harmonize profitability with ecological regeneration, echoing its commitment to long-term agricultural transition.
