Sun Joins KWM as Skadden Loses Another in Beijing

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has amplified its equity capital markets practice by securing the services of Sun Kai, a veteran legal professional from the Beijing office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. This move marks the second senior departure from Skadden's Beijing team in recent months, following the exit of Xu Yilin. Sun, who brings over 15 years of expertise in capital markets and M&A transactions, will operate from KWM's Hong Kong office. His hire supplements KWM's strategy to bolster its presence across the region, aligning with the firm's ongoing growth plans. The addition of Sun brings KWM's Hong Kong legal professionals to a total of 66, affirming the firm's commitment to an expanded service offering in critical Asian markets. Meanwhile, Skadden continues its operations in Beijing with a streamlined team following the closure of its Shanghai office.
