Strabag's Water Management Expansion with WTE Wassertechnik Acquisition

Strabag has announced its acquisition of WTE Wassertechnik, a provider of municipal and industrial water management solutions. The transaction, which is pending regulatory approval, is a key component of Strabag's Strategy 2030, designed to bolster the group's water technology capabilities. Kinstellar and Freshfields provided legal counsel for the acquisition, with Kinstellar's team spread across multiple countries including Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, and Serbia. On the other hand, Freshfields' team comprised legal experts from Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, Duesseldorf, and Berlin. CEE Legal Matters later reported the involvement of JPM Partners in advising Strabag, with team members based primarily in Serbia. The acquisition is projected to create a combined water technology business generating approximately EUR 400 million in annual output.
