Southern Ute Indian Tribe Welcomes New Tribal Council Members Baker and Olguin

The Southern Ute Indian Tribe has welcomed Linda K. Baker and James 'Mike' Olguin to its Tribal Council following a formal inauguration ceremony. Both members carry considerable experience, with Baker having previously served as a council member and director of the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum. In her diverse roles, she has contributed substantially to the preservation of the Tribe's cultural heritage and has played a pivotal part as an academic advisor in advancing tribal education. Olguin, a veteran in tribal governance, has held numerous leadership positions including Acting Chairman and has served extensively under prominent tribal leaders. In conjunction with the induction of the new members, Treasurer Marvin Pinnecoose has been appointed as Vice Chairman. His appointment underscores a commitment to fortifying the Tribe's governance while keeping cultural values central.
