Sore Paws: Veterinary Clinic Expands with NPIF II Funding

Sore Paws Veterinary Clinic, an independent veterinary practice based in Newton Aycliffe, has secured £400,000 in funding from NPIF II Mercia Debt Finance to expand its operations. The substantial capital will facilitate the development of a new, purpose-built facility three times the size of its existing clinic. It will feature modern amenities, including five consultation rooms, two operating theatres, and specialized areas for both cats and dogs. The expansion includes plans to grow the staff from four to seven veterinarians and to increase the number of nurses. This funding follows the practice's impressive growth trajectory; its client base includes 48,000 registered pets. Founded by Dr. Sarah Holmes in 2015, the clinic combines modern veterinary practices with a community-focused approach. Supported by the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, this growth aligns with objectives to drive economic development in Northern England, fostering business innovation and increasing the region's access to early-stage finance.
