Goodwin advised Smart Energy Group (SEG), a portfolio company of EOS Partners GmbH, on financing the acquisition of Matthias Frischke GmbH. SEG, via its entity L&P Gebudetechnik Holding GmbH, acquired 100% of Frischke, which specializes in heating, ventilation, and plumbing focused on energy-efficient solutions in large commercial projects. Founded in 2000 and based in Königswinter, Germany, Frischke employs over 35 specialists. SEG, a leader in building technology with over 500 employees and a total output of over €90m, operates mainly in the German regions of NRW and Hesse. EOS Partners is a private equity firm concentrating on midmarket companies in the DACH region. The acquisition is part of a strategic move to offer comprehensive services from a single source as part of SEG's growth and efficiency improvement plans. The transaction team was led by Goodwin's Munich partner Winfried M. Carli with assistance from Frankfurt associate Marius Garnatz and other team members specializing in private equity, finance, and tax matters.
