A UK-UAE-Saudi consortium, headed by Shard Capital Partners, has signed a framework agreement with Egypt to develop a $7 billion petrochemical complex in New Alamein City. The project entails collaboration between the UAE's Royal Strategic Partners and Saudi's Al-Qahtani Group, alongside the involvement of Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Ministry of Investment. The complex will feature an integrated production capacity of 3.1 million tonnes annually, yielding eight types of petrochemical products. In terms of employment, the complex is anticipated to generate 20,000 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent roles.
