Seddons Leads Merger to Form Seddons GSC in Expansion Bid

Two sets of mid-sized UK law firms—Seddons with GSC Solicitors, and Wilkin Chapman with Rollits—have announced plans to merge as they respond to rising business costs. Scheduled for completion on April 1st, the mergers will create firms with revenues of £22 million and £40 million, respectively. These mergers follow closely after the national law firm Knights acquired IBB Law for £30 million, highlighting a trend of consolidation within the industry. These moves come in a backdrop where mid-sized firms grew by about 6.1% last year but faced business cost increases of nearly 7%, according to the Law Society's Financial Benchmarking Survey.
