Sayenko Kharenko Advises on EUR 370 Million Expansion of Tyligulska Wind Farm

Sayenko Kharenko has acted as legal advisor for the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark and other banks in facilitating a EUR 370 million project finance agreement for DTEK's expansion of the Tyligulska wind farm. This capital injection, together with DTEK's contribution, constitutes the largest private sector investment in Ukraine since the 2022 Russian invasion, totaling EUR 450 million. The financing is backed by a guarantee from the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark and will enable the purchase of 64 wind turbines from Vestas. The initiative aims to enhance the wind farm's capacity from 114 to 500 megawatts, increasing its number of turbines from 19 to 83, and ultimately providing 1.7 terawatt-hours of electricity annually, which is sufficient to power 900,000 Ukrainian homes. Sayenko Kharenko's team involved several partners, counsel, senior associates, associates, and junior associates who played roles in reaching this landmark agreement, continuing their advisory relationship with DTEK, having previously supported the construction of the Tyligulska Wind Park in 2021.
