Robson Laidler Expands with Tindles Acquisition

Robson Laidler, a Newcastle and Durham-based accountancy firm, has expanded its presence into Teesside by acquiring Tindles Chartered Accountants, marking its largest acquisition in over a century. This move is set to increase Robson Laidler's group turnover to approximately £9 million and elevate its staff count to 126 across Newcastle, Durham, and Teesside. With this acquisition, Robson Laidler expects to join the ranks of the top 100 accountancy firms in the UK. Co-managing director Nick Wilson highlights that the acquisition aligns with the firm’s growth strategy aimed at maintaining independence while expanding its office locations as part of their five-year vision. Tindles will maintain its current name and 20-member team for about six months, under the leadership of founder Robert Tindle and partner Angela Foster. Legal advisories were provided by Newcastle-based Hay & Kilner and JLF for Robson Laidler, while Stockton-based Punch Robson represented Tindles.
