Robinhood Pioneers European Hub in Lithuania with Key Licenses

Robinhood, a leading US fintech company, is significantly expanding into the European market with the establishment of a new hub in Lithuania. Under the advisement of the law firm Ellex, Robinhood has successfully secured two pivotal licenses that position it firmly within the European financial landscape. In April 2025, Robinhood Europe obtained a Category A brokerage license from the Bank of Lithuania, thereby authorizing it to offer extensive financial services including order execution, proprietary trading, and client advisory. Additionally, in May, the company became the first in Lithuania to gain a crypto-asset service provider license under the new EU MiCA regulation. This development empowers Robinhood to conduct crypto transactions and offer safekeeping and transfer services across the European Economic Area (EEA). The legal team from Ellex instrumental in these advancements included Partners Ieva Dosinaite and Neringa Mickeviciute and several Senior Associates and Experts.
