Rarimo Secures $2.5 Million for Digital Identity Revolution

Rarimo, a burgeoning player in the field of zero-knowledge identity protocols, has successfully completed a $2.5 million fundraising round termed the Vision Round. This round was uniquely structured to include only founders of prominent chains and zero-knowledge protocols, spearheaded by Ethereum's founder, Vitalik Buterin. Contributions to the round also came from notable figures such as Nick White of Celestia and Zac Williamson of Aztec, among others. This fund aims to advance the rollout of Rarimo's digital identity solutions, with plans to develop a ZK roll-up on Ethereum scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. The company is motivated by the belief that digital identities need to be privately held and user-governed, leveraging ZK technology for anonymity and security. Furthermore, Rarimo's protocols have already facilitated anonymous voting in Russia, Iran, and Georgia. The firm envisions this technology will forge sovereign digital identity layers capable of building private social networks and fostering online transparency and trust.
