Deal News | Jan 23, 2025 | oxford sciences innovation

Quantum Motion, a company specializing in quantum technology, has partnered with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the University of Strathclyde to address challenges in the thermal management of quantum computing systems. The collaboration, part of the three-year FIRETRACE project, aims to develop new techniques for measuring and modeling the thermal behavior of cryogenic electronics, focusing on integrating these components with quantum devices. The project is funded by the UKRI Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Councils’ Prosperity Partnership scheme and Quantum Motion. The goal is to leverage CMOS technology to enhance scalability, efficiency in signal processing, and thermal management in quantum computing systems, operating at deep cryogenic temperatures. The project will also contribute to the training of future quantum engineers through the Centre for Doctoral Training in Applied Quantum Technologies at Strathclyde, supported by the partnership.
