D-Orbit, a leader in space logistics and orbital transportation, has completed the acquisition of the entire share capital of Planetek Italia S.r.l., a company specializing in satellite data processing and the design and development of software and infrastructure for space data. The transaction aims to strengthen the capabilities of both companies in advanced space technologies, focusing particularly on innovations in space data processing, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. The legal operation was facilitated by Eversheds Sutherland, supporting D-Orbit's legal counsel team led by various partners and associates covering labor law, intellectual property, fiscal aspects, and procedures under the golden power regulation. Meanwhile, the sellers were legally assisted by Molinari, ensuring transition in M&A and corporate profiles, and compliance with golden power procedures. The deal marks a key step in the industry's growing demand for advanced space solutions that require real-time data processing and AI integration, paving the way for innovations like the AI-eXpress mission, which aims to optimize the reliability and accessibility of global space information.
