This transaction marks a significant step for Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe, a prominent German-language trade publisher, as it ventures into new publishing territories. Cross Cult, established in 2001, is known for its diverse range of comics and manga published under various imprints. Post-acquisition, Cross Cult's existing management team will remain in charge of operations, ensuring continuity in business operations. Legal support for the acquisition was provided by the German law firm, Gtt Olk Feldhaus (GOF), with a team led by Dr. Heiner Feldhaus.
