Ovivo Inc., a global provider of water and wastewater treatment equipment and technologies, has announced the sale of its electronics division to Ecolab Inc., a leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions. The agreement, valued at approximately CAD 2.4 billion, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals. This strategic divestment marks a pivotal point for Ovivo, allowing the company to focus on its core sectors: Municipal/Industrial/PFAS, Energy, and Cembrane SiC Membranes. Ecolab, headquartered in Saint Paul, Minnesota, will absorb Ovivo's electronics competencies to further develop and innovate in the electronic solutions sector. Ovivo's president and CEO, Marc Barbeau, emphasized the newly acquired potential for growth and innovation within the remaining sectors of the company. Additionally, SKion Water, Ovivo's majority shareholder, will continue to pursue growth strategies through organic growth and North American acquisitions.
