In a strategic move to strengthen New York City's economic foothold, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has officially allocated the full $40 million from the New York City Catalyst Fund (NYCCF) across eleven impact-focused fund managers. This decision, approved by NYCEDC's Executive Committee, marks a significant milestone for the fund which launched in 2023. With a focus on social, environmental impact, and financial returns, the investments are geared towards sectors such as tech and the green economy. The final fund managers selected include Candide Group, HCAP Partners, and Turning Rock Partners. Across these investments, NYCCF capital is expected to generate $280 million in further investments, impacting 140 companies in New York City by fostering job creation and equitable growth. The fund targets high-wage, high-growth industries and inclusive entrepreneurship. NYCEDC President & CEO Andrew Kimball emphasizes the fund's role in job support and economic enhancement for the city. Fund managers were selected based on their leadership, NYC investment ties, and mission alignment. Examples of investment recipients include Harlem Capital, Antler, and Maycomb Capital among others, working across diverse sectors like real estate technology and education.
