Novo Nordisk, with legal counsel from Ropes & Gray, has entered into an exclusive license agreement with China-based United Laboratories International Holdings Limited and its subsidiary United Bio-Technology (Hengqin) Co. Ltd. The deal, valued at up to $2 billion, involves UBT251, a drug in clinical development for Type 2 diabetes, obesity, and other diseases. Under the agreement, Novo Nordisk will gain exclusive rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize UBT251 worldwide, excluding the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
