Novapet, part of the SAMCA Group, has announced the acquisition of ENSO from GED Capital, positioning itself as an integrated leader in the Iberian PET packaging market. ENSO, established in 1989 and acquired by GED Capital in 2018, has expanded significantly with sales growing from €22 million to over €60 million and employee numbers increasing through organic growth and acquisitions in Spain and Portugal. The transaction will lead to the creation of a vertically integrated group with five production plants, aimed at expanding presence and capacity to cater to demanding markets such as food, beverage, and cosmetics. The management team of ENSO, led by Eugenio Real and José Óscar Martínez, will continue to run the operations, ensuring continuity. The acquisition sees SAMCA Group expanding its packaging business, integrating vertically into the PET value chain, and preparing for projected annual turnover exceeding €400 million. Financial and legal advisory on the transaction were provided by Evercore, Baker & McKenzie, Deloitte, Garrigues, among others.
