Norges Bank Investment Management Expands in Real Estate with $1 Billion Acquisitions

Norway's sovereign wealth fund, managed by Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), has announced two major investments in European real estate totaling $1 billion. NBIM has formed a new joint venture with Shaftesbury Capital, acquiring a 25% stake in a London property portfolio for £570 million ($740.03 million), valuing the overall portfolio at £2.66 billion. In a separate transaction, the fund agreed to purchase a 40% stake in AXA Lifestyle Housing, which operates student housing and co-living spaces in France and Spain, for €240 million ($261.02 million).
