Nomura Secures $1.8 Billion Deal to Acquire Macquarie's Asset Management Units

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Nomura in its strategic acquisition of Macquarie’s US and European public asset management business for $1.8 billion. This all-cash transaction signifies a major expansion for Nomura’s Investment Management Division. By acquiring 100% of the stock from Macquarie Management Holdings, Inc., and its European counterparts, Nomura aims to significantly boost its global capabilities and client reach. The firm currently manages around $590 billion in client assets, and upon completion of this agreement, is expected to increase its total assets under management to approximately $770 billion, over a third of which will be managed outside Japan.
