NextEnergy Capital Unveils New Green Finance Framework
Funding | Nov 28, 2024 | NextEnergy Capital Ltd
NextEnergy Capital Ltd. has launched a Green Finance Framework to provide appealing financing opportunities by accessing capital at reduced market margins through its sustainable business activities. This framework is intended to lead in the clean energy transition, enabling the issuance of Green Loans at lower margins to fund eligible green projects with significant environmental benefits, such as renewable energy and energy storage systems. The framework has been validated by Standard & Poor's (S&P), receiving a Dark Green rating, the top accolade under S&P’s Shades of Green Analytical Approach. This certification recognizes NEC’s comprehensive integration of environmental factors into investment decisions. The initial beneficiary of this framework is the NextPower V ESG fund, benefiting from a reduced margin on its existing debt facilities. Giulia Guidi, Head of ESG at NEC, stressed the framework's role in driving sustainable financial practices, with alignment to ESG goals, enhancing transparency, and supporting long-term growth. This initiative supports NEC's sustainability strategy, integrating ESG priorities in investments to lead responsible solar sector growth.
