Deal News | Feb 25, 2025 | Finance Community IT - 3 Private Equity

Nextalia SGR has announced the final closing of its alternative investment fund, Nextalia Capitale Rilancio, which has exceeded its fundraising target by securing €265 million in commitments. The fund, aimed at revitalizing medium to large Italian enterprises facing temporary financial challenges, achieved this milestone within ten months of marketing. The first investment has been made to create a leading veterinary clinic group, Ca' Zampa, signifying strategic growth in a sector ripe for consolidation. This investment includes a capital increase in Ca' Zampa Holding and the acquisition of competitor BluVet and three other independent clinics, strengthening its market position in Italy. Alvarez and Marsal, OC&C, STS Deloitte Stp, Chiomenti, and ERM served as advisors for financial, business, fiscal, legal, and ESG aspects respectively. The group now operates 45 clinics, including major facilities like Rome's Gregorio VII hospital. Going forward, Ca' Zampa aims to expand by acquiring additional clinics to become the leader in the Italian veterinary market. Some previous stakeholders have reinvested to maintain a minority shareholding, emphasizing the strategic potential of this initiative. Nextalia CEO Francesco Canzonieri highlighted the distinctiveness of this deal, citing the high growth potential of the veterinary sector.
