Nexans Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Cables RCT in Spain

Nexans, a significant entity in the global energy transition, has completed the acquisition of Cables RCT, an established Spanish producer of low voltage cables, with a strong presence in Southern Europe. The acquisition, finalized on June 2, 2025, is part of Nexans' strategy to reinforce its presence in key geographic areas and accelerate its growth in reference markets. Cables RCT, founded in 1965, operates a production unit in Zaragoza and several logistical centers across Spain, and generated €133 million in revenue in 2024. Post-acquisition, Cables RCT plans to enhance its production capacity by over 25% to meet the increasing demand for safer and more sustainable fire-safety cable solutions. The acquisition strengthens Nexans' footprint in Southern Europe with complementary assets and a focus on innovative fire-safety products. Nexans foresees substantial value creation from synergies by leveraging Cables RCT's modernized industrial capabilities. The leadership at Cables RCT will continue to contribute to the growth and integration of operations under Nexans' strategic initiatives. Christophe Guérin, CEO of Nexans, stated that this acquisition is pivotal for Nexans' strategic goal to become a pure electrification player.
