NAMSA Expands with Acquisition of WuXi AppTec Testing Facilities

In a notable transaction within the medical technology sector, US-based NAMSA, a medtech testing, clinical, and regulatory consulting firm, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the medical device testing units of WuXi AppTec in Georgia and Minnesota. This acquisition is the ninth for NAMSA since being acquired by ARCHIMED, a global investment firm focusing on healthcare, in 2020. Dechert, a global law firm, advised NAMSA in this transaction. This strategic move aims to expand NAMSA's clinical research and testing solutions, addressing the increasing regulatory requirements in the medtech industry. The law firm Dechert's team, led by corporate partners Michael Darby and Alain Decombe, played a pivotal role in structuring the deal. NAMSA's acquisition aims to enhance its outsourcing and in-house services to mitigate risk and improve stakeholder value for its clients, while WuXi AppTec's facilities will complement NAMSA's capabilities, potentially accelerating MedTech innovation globally.
