Motor City Golf Club Forms as Newest TGL Team

Proskauer Rose LLP, a leading international law firm, has announced its advisory role in the formation of the Motor City Golf Club (MCGC), the first expansion team for the TGL league. TGL, presented by SoFi, is a primetime, team-based golf league established by TMRW Sports in collaboration with Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and the PGA TOUR. The MCGC team is set to commence in TGL's third season in 2027 and will represent Detroit. The ownership of MCGC is driven by Middle West Partners and includes notable sports figures such as Sheila Hamp, principal owner of the Detroit Lions, and Rob Walton, owner of the Denver Broncos. Other significant investors include technology entrepreneur Kal Somani and sports investment firm RHC Group. Proskauer's longstanding relationship with TGL has seen the firm as primary outside counsel on various strategic matters including the league's structure, launch, initial team sales, and media operations. The Proskauer team directed the expansion process to Detroit with key partners and associates handling sports, M&A, and tax-related matters.
