Montrose Port Expands with £115M Investment

The Montrose Port is set to undergo a significant expansion with the development of berths 9, 10, and 11, increasing its capacity by 30 percent. This comes as part of a larger £115 million investment project facilitated by Scottish Enterprise's match-funding agreement. The economic development agency has allocated £1.7 million towards initial studies and investigative work to create 20 hectares of manufacturing land at the Montrose Port Industrial Park (MPIP). The MPIP's potential infrastructure investment will play a key role in supporting Scotland's offshore wind sector. Adrian Gillespie, Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise, highlighted the project's importance for Scotland's green energy future, innovation, and productivity. The project also includes plans to transform part of Customs House into a Skills Academy for the renewables industry.
