Mitsubishi Power, part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), has completed the Power Station 5 Block 4 gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plant at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), marking a significant enhancement in Bahrain’s energy production capabilities. This plant utilizes Mitsubishi Power's latest hydrogen-ready M701JAC gas turbine technology, which is being deployed for the first time in a Middle Eastern aluminum smelter. The power station provides 680.9 MW, contributing to Alba's decarbonization targets and supporting energy demands. The project completion, ahead of schedule, underscores Mitsubishi Power's commitment to efficient and reliable power solutions, facilitating Alba’s growth and aligning with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
